it's all about the music
From May 2012 to December 2018 I produced Studio Universal's monthly channel promo known as the "Vetrina" (literally: window display). Each Vetrina had to include around 16, often disparate, film titles, as well as occasional stunts and events, so every two weeks for 80 months I created a 1m12s promo and ultimately viewed close to 1000 films. The challenge of incorporating and reworking the variety of material was not insignificant. Early decisions that we were promoting the channel rather than the individual films, and that strong music choices - usually up to the minute and ahead of the charts - would provide the thematically unifying element, proved fundamental. While the channel branding would change over the years, and the use of a speaker eventually dropped, the central concept remained the same: we will entertain you.
